The Tanzania Community Challenge is a unique opportunity to experience firsthand Homeless International’s overseas work, combined with an unforgettable trek through Tanzania’s great safari land.
On this 12-day trip you will work on a community building project that is being supported by Homeless International through our Tanzanian partner. You will help to make a real difference to the lives of local people who are working together to overcome challenges to housing, water and sanitation. No building experience or skills are required to take part – all you need is the enthusiasm and commitment to work hard and make a difference.
During the second half of the trip you will trek through the arid, game-rich bush country of Tarangire National Park, onto the shores of Lake Manyara - sanctuary to thousands of flamingos. Surrounded by the volcanic ridges of the Great Rift Valley and the lush vegetation of the highlands, you will pass through small villages where you will meet local tribes people and learn about their culture. The area is home to a myriad of wildlife including zebra, gazelle and ostrich.
Our African Adventure finishes with a day’s game drive into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area.
