Since we were founded by housing associations and housing professionals in 1987, we have relied on the support of our parent sector.
We understand that supporting Homeless International, the UK charity dedicated to housing and the transformation of slums, impacts on your business reputation. Tenants, employees and business partners are all influenced by your corporate reputation.
You can support our work in a number of ways:
Become a housing association member
Membership of Homeless International is one of the most important yet simple ways to support us. It allows us to plan and ensure our work is ongoing. Please visit our membership page to find out more.
Guarantee Fund
Using deposits and donations from housing associations and other organisations, we can help our partners to access loans worth up to ten times as much from overseas banks and financial institutions.
Our Guarantee Fund has enabled us to access over £1 million in loans, allowing projects to scale up and supply basic necessities that really change lives. It’s easy: Simply put, a deposit is contracted to Homeless international for 5 – 10 years; we keep the fund in a UK bank account and use the money to guarantee a loan for a partner’s overseas work.
Established in 1994 with the deposits of housing associations, the Guarantee Fund’s value is currently just under £0.7 million. Please visit our Guarantee Fund page to find out more. To discuss further or arrange a meeting with a member of our team, contact Caron at caron@homeless-international.org or on 024 7663 2802.
Affiliated Membership Round Up appeal
The Round Up appeal is a simple yet effective way of showing your support. Whether it’s supporting families in Zambia to secure land, helping flood-affected families in the Philippines to rebuild their homes and water supplies, or giving families in Tanzania the support they need to relocate after eviction, all of Homeless International’s work is community-led, creating sustainable change.
Your organisation can donate using the affiliation fee renewal form that you receive from the National Housing Federation, Scottish Federation of Housing Associations or Community Housing Cymru – they will then pass the money on to Homeless International. Alternatively, yo
u can send us your donations direct when you renew. Alert your teams and finance departments to the appeal now and ask them to simply ‘round up’ your membership fee when they complete the renewal form from the organisations above. Contact Pauline on 024 7663 2802 or pauline@homeless-international.org to find out more.
Involve your staff
Getting your staff involved in fundraising is a great way to motivate and encourage teamworking. Visit our staff page to find out how your whole team can support us.
